2012 Top Eliminator Rules


1.    The index will remain the same at 8.90.  We will be qualifying on reaction time for both days.

2.    Points for qualifying will be as follows:

3.    You must have an engine diaper to run in Top Eliminator.

4.    There will be no points given for rounds that are not completed during a race.

5.    There will be  a 3 man Tech Committee and those people are:

6.    There will be a 4-man Rules Committee and those people are:

7.    Money must be paid at the Ebertz Bros. Racing trailer,  (CHEQUES PAYABLE TO "TOP ELIMINATOR") before the 1st round qualifying NO EXCEPTIONS or you forfeit the race.  Keri or Leah will advise the Rules Committee about anyone not paying and they will enforce the rule.  Payouts will be done at the Ebertz Bros. Racing trailer 15 minutes after the race is over.

8.    The ladder will be posted after each round on Ebertz Bros. Racing and Henry Hearn`s trailer.

9.    Two cars must be in the water box together NO EXCEPTIONS.  If you have a heat problem, enter the water box and shut off your car until you are ready.

10.   There will be a Test `n Tune day, weather permitting.  A seasonal tech must be done by the Tech Committee prior to the 1st race.

11.    Regular payouts for the 2012 Race Season:

  • $5,000 for the Winner
  • $850 for the Runner Up
  • $400 for each Semi Finalist
  • $100 for each Quarter Finalist

12.    Memberships are to be renewed for the 2012 Season.  If you don`t have a membership and you make it to the money rounds, you will be given only half of the payout.  Memberships are $125.00.

Top Eliminator Bracket Rules

See current IHRA Rule Book for Top Sportsman and Top Dragster Divisional Event Rules and apply all the following except for the following minor adjustment.

Index will be based on 8.90 seconds.  Top Eliminator will be an all run field as long as the car meets minimum ET requirements in eliminations.  All cars must dial quicker than your qualified ET between rounds but must dial no slower than .10 beyond the slowest qualified car.  (As per IHRA rules)

No minimum weight is required because scales will not be set up on a regular basis.  An engine diaper (not containment) us mandatory on all entries.  No downtrack throttle stops permitted.

Fire extinguisher system is not mandatory for Top Eliminator.

Entry Fee and Prize Money Information

Gate entry is $50 for car and driver, then $125 per day to race in Top Eliminator.  Money must be paid at Ebertz Bros. Racing trailer (CHEQUES PAYABLE TO "TOP ELIMINATOR") before first round qualifying or you forfeit the race NO EXCEPTIONS . 

For 2012, a 10 race series is proposed.  5 weekend dates with 2 races each weekend, with a points series to determine overall points.  Points are taken from 8 races.
